Chelsey is one of those unexpected friends. We met years ago in our wild and reckless days. We’d spend weekends smashing back Cane-Trains and going moggy to Flogging Molly in the dark and dingy dance floors of Burn Nightclub. Here we are now, all grown up. Chels recently moved back to Durban and needed some head-shots for her website portfolio. We spent the morning of her 30th birthday shooting against different back drops at The Point. When we called it a wrap, she treated me to breakfast!
I don’t have to try hard to describe the kind of person Chelsey is. These photos speak for themselves. I can almost her her cheerful laugh through the photos. She’s the kind of friend you know will be up for any adventure at the drop of a hat. As much as she is carefree and a little dorky, she can also get caught up with in depth political conversations and theories of how the universe works. Having travels quite a bit after leaving high school, Chels is full of stories. I guess this is also what makes her a good writer. You can find more about her work here.
